Edison Chen sex photo scandal has never ended up.

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

We know Hong Kong’s Edison Chen sex photo scandal has been spread and known all over the world. In my prior entry, I have said that under the pressure of authority, the spread of sex photos has stopped. But that’s not the whole story.

Some days ago, Edison Chen came back Hong Kong from the USA. After he stepped in Hong Kong’s airport, the police went up and asked him for an inquiry as soon as possible. Then, Edison Chen made a public apologize in front of hundreds of reporters after a short rest.

Now, the inquiry’s result has been leaked to the press. More and more women actresses are involved in this scandal! Even some very famous and senior ones! That’s amazing! Maybe we can never image this scandal going so surprising.

The Edison Chen sex photo scandal has never ended up! My readers and I, we will follow this event closely.

Dawn Yang: “Why I revealed Edison’s indecent proposal to me”

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

“I brought up the personal anecdote of my encounter with Edison not to attract attention, but to drive home a point that no matter how charming or famous a guy is, a girl should not allow herself to be caught in compromising situations, as she has more to lose.

“I don’t want to say anything more about my personal encounter with Edison as that was not the point of my STOMP article.

“I brought this up because when the scandal broke, a chill went down my spine as I could have been one of the unintended victims too.

“I just wanted to share this with the STOMP readers to drive home my message to girls out there to be careful and sensible, not to create a scandal or unwanted news around myself.

“People who read the whole article on STOMP will see that the anecdote was only a small part of it, not the crux; I find it upsetting that the mainstream media is taking the anecdote out of context and blowing it up, completely missing the point and message of my original article.

“Unfortunately I have no control over what STOMP decides to make headlines or not; I even tried my best to persuade SPH not to run this in the papers.

“Riding on the wave of the scandal is NOT ME, its the media and papers who make these headlines to sell more and make money.”

Edison Chen’s Statement for Sex Photo Scandal

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Today I’ve come back to Hong Kong, to stand before you, and account for myself. I’ve never escaped from my responsibility.

During the past few weeks, I’ve been with my mother, my family and loved ones, to show support and care, and at the same time, have them support and care for me.

I admit that most of the photos being circulated on the Internet were taken by me. But these photos were very private and have not been shown to people and were never intended to be shown to anyone. These photos were stolen from me illegally and distributed without my consent.

There is no doubt whoever obtained these photos have been uploaded them on the Internet with malicious and deliberate intent. This matter has deteriorated to the extent that society as a whole has been affected by this. And in this regard, I’m deeply saddened.

I would like now to apologize to all the people for all the suffering that has been caused, and the problems that have been arisen from this. I would like to apologize to all the ladies and to all their families, for any harm or hurt they have been feeling. I’m sorry.

I would like to also apologize to my mother and my father, for the pain that they are suffering that I’ve caused them during these past few weeks.

Most importantly, I would like to say sorry to all the people of Hong Kong. I give my apologies sincerely to you all - unreservedly and with my heart.

I know young people in Hong Kong look up to many figures in our society. And in this regard, I have failed as a role model. However, I wish that this matter would teach everyone a lesson: to all the young people in our community, let this be a lesson for you all. This is not an example to be set for you.

During my time away, I’ve made an important decision. I will wholeheartedly fulfil all commitments that I have to take. But after that, I decide to step away from the Hong Kong entertainment industry. I decided to do this to give myself an opportunity, to heal myself, and to search my soul. I will dedicate my time to charity and community work within the next few months. I will be away from Hong Kong entertainment indefinitely, there is no time frame.

I’ve been assisting the Police, since the first day the photos were published. And I will continue to assist them. After this press conference, I have obligations to help them with their investigation and hope that this case can end soon, as everyone I think has the same wish. I would like to use this opportunity to thank the Police, for their hard work on this case. Thank you.

I believe everyone’s priority now, my priority now, is to stop the suffering and pain. We do not want to let this situation become more out of control. We need to protect all the innocent, and all the young, from matters like this. In this regard, I have instructed my lawyer to do everything possible within the law, to protect all the innocent victims of this case.

I believe that a press statement is being issued as we speak, on what my lawyer has advised me to do.

Lastly, I would like to thank everyone for coming here today, and listening to what I have to say. I would like to also apologize once again to all the ladies and their families, my family, and to everyone in Hong Kong, and everyone in our society. I’m deeply saddened by this. And I apologize to everyone that has to go through this.

I would like to also thank you for giving me this opportunity to say whatever I wanted to say all along in my heart. I hope after today, I can have your forgiveness. In regard to this case and everything that has happened, I’m deeply sorry. I hope you all will accept my apology and give me a chance. Thank you.

China: the blue and violent Internet

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Late in 2007, three days before 2008 January 1st, a girl in CCTV news said the Internet was both very blue and very violent. After this video flick was spread by those online video-sharing websites, all over China’s netizens were talking about the topic.

Some adults said the girl was lying and she acted as a victim of so called bad Internet according to the authority media. So the authority would have a pretence to control the Internet more and more heavily. But some people didn’t agree. They thought the Internet now was really blue and violent. Almost every big websites have dirty contents. And they called for the authority to do with the situation.

This wave hasn’t been gone down, that wave was going up! In Hong Kong, a singer and actor Edison Chen took photos of his sex partners and kept them in his MAC computer these years. But these photos were stolen by someone who worked in a computer repair shop where Edison went to repair his MAC. See more details here.

Now, the whole Great Chinese netizens are talking about this. In China mainland, the wave is greater than other areas. Some China’s important websites such as Sina and Netease even open up a special News report covering this scandal. Thousands of other small websites and forums are doing worse. They admit the netizens to view and spread those sexual photos and even some of them offer the archive for downloading!

So do you think the Internet in China is blue and violent? Well, I don’t know the whole story. But I know the children should not see these porn photos! So in this side, I agree with that girl appeared in CCTV news. But now the question is where the classification policy for the content of the Internet is? And Movies, Books?

I hope that day will come before Jintao Hu leaves his position. The faster, the better!

P.S. My English is poor. So take it easy when you see some mistakes of grammar and spell.

the Sex Photo event of Edison Chen and Girl Stars of Hong Kong

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

Firstly, let’s see a piece of news report from NYTimes:

One of Hong Kong’s most popular singers, Gillian Chung, who has a following of girls in their early teens and younger and who has been prominently featured in ads for Hong Kong Disneyland, seems to appear repeatedly in the photographic material. Ms. Chung is part of a duo known as the Twins.

At a brief news conference on Monday, Ms. Chung neither confirmed nor denied that she appeared in the images, but she said she had been “naïve” in her youth and regretted causing distress to her family and fans. The date of the images is unclear, but they appear to have been taken over the last several years.

When a few photos began to circulate on the Internet in late January, the Emperor Entertainment Group, the promoter of Ms. Chung and several other singers involved, suggested that the photos had been altered to place the stars’ faces on other women’s bodies in the videos and photographs. Spokesmen for Emperor Entertainment declined to comment on the dispute.

Late Tuesday, in an e-mail reply to questions, the Hong Kong police confirmed that they had arrested nine people and said that two had been charged so far with “publishing obscene articles” and one had been charged with “access to a computer with dishonest/criminal intent.”

The police declined to address the question of selective enforcement except to say that “any enforcement action taken by the police is in accordance with the laws in Hong Kong.”

Some observers say they see the current cases as part of a toughening of Hong Kong police policies. The arrests coincide with preparations for six Olympic equestrian events to be held in Hong Kong in August.

Jackie Hung, the vice convener of the Civil Human Rights Front, a broad coalition of nongovernmental groups in Hong Kong, said she knew of 37 protesters arrested last year at nonviolent demonstrations.

The crackdown contrasts starkly with Hong Kong’s recent past. When about 500,000 people protested on July 1, 2003, against a proposal for strict internal security laws, the police arrested no one. Afterward, the government withdrew the proposal.

Hong Kong media reported this week that a video store across the border in mainland China was selling CDs of the singers’ explicit videos and photos for $2.70 each, but was promptly closed by mainland officials. Discussions of the videos and photos have flooded Internet forums in Hong Kong and the mainland.

The photos and videos appear to show a well-known male Hong Kong singer and record producer, Edison Chen, in separate scenes with at least six women, four of whom are also well-known singers. In a video released last week, Mr. Chen apologized “to anyone who has been affected” and asked the public to delete any copies of the photos.

“The lives of many innocent people have been affected by this malicious and criminal conduct, and in this regard I am filled with pain, hurt and frustration,” Mr. Chen said.

According to the police, Mr. Chen took his laptop computer to a local computer repair shop, and the computer’s memory was copied there. An employee at a downtown computer store, eLiTe Multimedia Ltd., who only gave his last name, Yeung, said on Tuesday that a former employee had been arrested, but he declined to elaborate, citing the police investigation.

The current scandal has led Hong Kong tabloids to run reports in the last several days of supposed plans by gangsters to “teach a lesson” to Mr. Chen and perhaps even kill him. Organized crime has long played an important role in Hong Kong’s entertainment industry.

Mr. Chen has left Hong Kong but plans to return this weekend and hold a news conference, said Mavis Leung, his spokeswoman, who declined to elaborate.

Well, now let us see more details. (Via)

In early 2008, during the traditional Chinese Spring Festival, lots of racy sexual acts photographs, between Edison Chen and some famous actresses Bobo Chan, Candice Chan Si-Wai, Edison Chen, Gillian Chung ,Cecilia Cheung, Rachel Ngan, Mandy Chen Yu-Ju, Candice Chan Si-Wai, was distributed on the Internet. It was said that these photos were taken by Edison Chen himself or the actresses involved photographically resembled to him and other actresses.

This photo scandal was a really big event for Hong Kong media, and even Mainland China and Taiwan. It was dominated the Hong Kong news headlines for more than a week, some people have been arrested in connection with the distribution of these photos, but the spread of these photos didn’t stop.

Now under the press of the authority of Hong Kong and China mainland, the Internet there has brought down the sound of this event and things seem to pass by. But the rapid spread of these porn sex photos is still going on the Internet, you can easily download the porn sex photos in BBSs or forums with adult content. Besides, you can get the whole archive of Edison Chen with those Girl Stars via almost any kind of P2P software with interrelated search key word!
